This department was created by combining several existing departments, including Information Systems. My roles:
|
University of Florida Information Systems Apr 2000 – Jan 2003 |
I wrote IBM mainframe processes in COBOL and SAS, and web-based applications in Java. |
Dacing Tree, Inc. May 2000 – Mar 2019 (retired) |
I created Dacing Tree as a moonlighting web development business. I wrote PHP/MySQL applications and developed Android and iPhone apps for clients. National Mango Board: I wrote the search and results pages for the Mango Crop Report Application as well as the process that obtains and stores this information. Florida Sea Grant: I wrote the original OARS application (A Web‐Based Reporting System for Monitoring and Evaluating A Land Grant or Sea Grant Research and Extension Program). An explanation of this application, with screenshots, is in this PDF. A video walk-through of the application is in this video, with the application pages appearing at the 7:15 mark. |
University of Florida IFAS Computer Network Apr 1985 – Apr 2000 |
I wrote MS-DOS, Windows, PRO/350, and VAX applications (in Basic, Fortran, Pascal, C, C++, and assembler), and contributed to help desk support of 67 county extension offices. I released a Java applet in 1997 - JMAPPLET - that was used by many sites, including the University of Florida's campus map. You can visit my original release page on archive.org. |
